Logo rebuild and Studio intro animation.
Goldsight Pictures is an up-and-coming film production studio founded by Debora Tamay, a talented Actor, Director and Voice Over artist.
After working together on a previous project, I was invited to create the studio logo animation for Tamay’s production company, Goldsight Pictures. She shared a few AI-generated references to communicate the desired look and feel with the overall direction taking inspiration from the TSG Entertainment logo—while giving me plenty of creative freedom to interpret and bring the animation to life.
Software
Blender, Marvelous Designer, Substance 3D Painter, Cascadeur, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator
Scene Breakdown
3d assets
Most assets were created in Blender and textured in Substance 3D Painter. Some assets were ethically sourced from online libraries for efficiency, then modified, re-unwrapped, and re-textured to suit production needs. All assets use a UDIM workflow with resolution scaled to camera distance.
The clothing was created in Marvelous Designer then textured in Substance 3D Painter
Substance 3D Painter was used instead of Mari for faster procedural texturing and due to no hero-asset requirements.
Animation
The animations for this project were a blend of pre-made and hand animated movements, all of which complied and edited in Cascadeur then exported into Marvelous Designer for clothing simulations and finally imported into Blender.ents.
Rendering
The scene and lighting were built in Blender and rendered with Cycles, outputting MultiLayer OpenEXR files with all passes, depth, and cryptomats for flexible compositing.
Compositing
The OpenEXR layers were composited and color graded in After Effects
Scene Breakdown
2D Logo
The client provided an AI-generated logo for reference, which was recreated as a vector logo while retaining the original design and color. Aspects of the logo were adjusted to have more visual continuity and less of the AI generated noise.
The 2D Logo was then animated in After Effects.
