FAUX RACCORD FILMS STUDIO LOGO
Studio logo animation.
Faux Raccord Films is a new up-and-coming production studio started by Milad Ahmadi who hired me to create the studio logo animation for him.
When Milad approached me he had a very specific animation in mind; a piece of film reel that gets caught on the letters and tears from the rest of the tape. He also provided a very well sketched out storyboard for me to follow so that I can exactly bring together his vision for the logo animation.

Scene Breakdown
3d assets
All assets within this scene were hand modelled with a subdivision workflow in mind to have the highest possible resolution available when necessary.
Animation
All animations were animated by hand.
Rendering
The scene and lighting were built in Blender and rendered with Cycles, outputting MultiLayer OpenEXR files with all passes, for flexible compositing.
Compositing
The OpenEXR layers were composited and color graded in After Effects
Story Board
The choice of font and the original sketches for the animation idea were provided by the director to use as a guide. After re-creating a 3D version of the storyboard for approval, the rest of the animation was slowly blocked-in and refined until completion.
